Fayetteville Amtrak StationFayetteville Station
472 Hay Street

Station Description: Fayetteville's train station was built in 1911 by the Atlantic Coastline Railroad. The brick Dutch Colonial Revival building is actually the third station to be built at the corner of Hay and Hillsborough streets. In addition to serving train passengers, the station today includes a sandwich shop.

Project Overview: Improvements have been made to the historic Fayetteville train station to bring it into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The boarding platform has been reconstructed to provide better accessibility. Modifications to the Waiting Room now allow for sheltered passage to the platform. Construction began October 2005 and was completed in May 2006. The improvements were designed by SFL&A Architects of Fayetteville. Progressive Contracting Co. Inc. of Sanford was the contractor.
